Louisiana Wildlife Federation’s 76th Annual Convention

–>Friday, August 21 at 7pm: BBQ Dinner and live music by Wildlife Band. MC Ben Babin will kick off the event that includes dancing, special presentations, raffles and a silent auction to raise funds for the LWF’s conservation education and advocacy work. Admission to this event is $50 and the public is invited to join LWF members, supporters, convention delegates and other guests for a fun evening.

–>Saturday, August 22 at Noon: LWF Board of Directors Luncheon will feature a presentation on “Master Naturalist Programs in Louisiana: Building a Network” led jointly by Robert “Bob” Thomas and Julia Lightner with Louisiana Master Naturalists of Greater New Orleans, and Stacey Scarce with Acadiana Master Naturalists. Tickets to the Luncheon are $35 and the public is welcome to attend.

–>On Saturday morning and afternoon, LWF convention participants will debate resolutions on policy positions, hear updates from those who represent LWF on statewide commissions and task force committees, and discuss collaboration among and with LWF’s affiliate organizations.

–>Those not participating in convention business meetings are invited to take part in the “Spouses Tour” on Saturday, leaving at 9:45am. Participants will enjoy a guided tour of the nearby LSU Rural Life Museum and enjoy lunch at Parrains Restaurant.

–>The convention’s hospitality suite will be hosted by ASAP and convention attendees are invited to relax with LWF members between and after meetings.
